Here we go once again. The Free 2008 Fantasy Baseball Rankings are starting to come out, and the Fantasy Baseball Guy has you covered. Written by Paul Greco. Not only do I provide you with the Top 30 Catchers, but I break it out into Tiered Round-by-Round selections, Mixed rankings, AL rankings, NL rankings and even give you Auctions values all on one sheet. It's your one stop shop for Cheat Sheets. I start everything off this 2008 season with the catchers. Victor Martinez is my Top Overall catcher, but Dodgers catcher Russell Martin is not to far behind. Martin may help those Fantasy Owners more in 5×5 leagues, with his 21 stolen bases last year, but Martinez to me is the clear cut favorite here. I really like the idea of him playing more 1st base too. This will allow him to save his knees, and be more effective at the plate. My Break Catcher this year is Kurt Suzuki of the Oakland A's. Last year, I nailed it with Russell Martin, Suzuki to me is a similar type hitter. He sprays the ball around the field, has enough pop in his bat to hit 15-20 HR's and can drive in 80-90 RBI. When we talk Comeback Players, I like to think of it as a player who we expected much more from a year again but didn't meet expectations. This year, that player is A.J. Pierzynski. Over the last three years Pierzynski's HR totals have dropped, and to me he's the classic player who can turn it around this year. Like most of his teammates, Pierzynski suffered through one of his worst seasons as a pro. Look for Pierzynski to bounce back this year and hit 15-20 HR's, and will fall to the late middle rounds, which is good news for you. For a look at the 2008 Catchers Rankings Cheat Sheet CLICK HERE.
