By Paul Greco. Again, let me apologize first off for not getting this out fast enough for some of you. Unfortunately my real-job was getting in the way. Ok enough excuses. These rankings may have some surprises, but after spending the last two months gathering information from the web, scouts, coaches, and executives, their little bits add up and help me put together my rankings.
My Top guy, who is probably tops on many lists is Matt Holliday of the Colorado Rockies. This guy is still in his Power Peak years, and still players for in Colorado where he places half his games. I will tell you that I was a little torn here because I really feel as though Alfonso Soriano is the better Fantasy Outfielder. Soriano gives you all 5 categories, and is a player I feel will have a better year than last.
My Sleeper pick in the outfield is Matt Kemp of the LA Dodgers. After speaking to Mike Easler, the AAA hitting coach of the Dodgers, Easler says this kid is for real. Kemp hits to all fields and enjoyed a great 2007 season. With a .342 batting average, it was his 10 Hr's and 10 SB's that I really like. This guy to me could be a 25-25 guy, and is going late in many mock drafts.
The guy I'm looking to bounce back is Rocco Baldelli of the Tampa Bay Rays. Here's a guy who left his hammy on the base paths, but is already running, and should be ready for spring training. Now, if he can get 15+ HR, drive in 70+ RBI, and steal 10+ bases, I think getting him late will be a great value pick.
